Tips to Help you Plan Your Wedding Day: A Quick Timeline

If you’ve never organized a wedding day before then starting to plan your big day can seem very overwhelming and conflicting. As soon as you get engaged people will start asking you when it’s happening so they can buy themselves an outfit, but, you’ve got to take things one step at a time. You want your day to be amazing, and that’s totally understandable. However, perfection doesn’t come together in a matter of hours or even weeks – it takes a long time to bring together your dream wedding day – so don’t try and do it on a tight timeline because while it is possible, it may create unnecessary stress for you.

We’ve put together a short timeline to help aid you in planning your wedding day and ensuring it all goes to plan. This lead up to one of the best days of your life should be relaxing and happy, not stressful and dull.

Get Yourself a Wedding Planner

One of the first and most important things to do is to get yourself a wedding planner, it may not be a physical person who comes with you to appointments and meetings but even just investing in a diary is a great thing to keep everything organized and running smoothly. On the run-up to the big day, you’re going to have an appointment after appointment; it’s always best to know when you’re free for some time with your friends. Plus, you don’t want to double book yourself!

Find a Venue

Most people assume the venue picking comes after choosing your date, but in fact, a top tip by us is to look around venues and find out when they have availability. You may have in mind a season for the venue, but you can let them know this. Deciding on a venue before the big date will avoid any disappointment. However, if you’re willing to wait for the ultimate venue, then you need to be willing to wait for a whole. Some venues have up to 2 years waiting list to have your big day there.

Set the Perfect Date

Time to start thinking about dates, when do you want your wedding to take place. Is it summer, winter, perhaps fall or spring? It’s totally up to you and it’s essential you decide sooner rather than later as your guests will need to know when they will be attending your day.

Decide on Your Bridal Party and Groomsmen

Some ladies have their bridal party known from a young age, but if you’re not one of these women then now it’s time to think about who you want to spend the day within their matching dresses! Your bridal party and groomsmen should be some of your best friends or close siblings to make the day even more special. Don’t forget to assign a maid of honor too; she can help you out with all the smaller details. Remember you’re going to have to buy bridesmaid dresses also if you’re looking for an affordable and good quality retailer for these, JJ’s House is a top recommendation.

Buy Your Wedding Rings As Soon As Possible

Picking your wedding ring as soon as possible is always best as you can then think about other important things. Go along with your husband to be and choose your perfect wedding rings to hand over to each other on the big day.

It’s Never Too Early to Shop for the Dress

Shopping for your wedding dress can seem daunting, but it’s also super fun too. Shop for your dress in a range of places, or if you’re looking for cheap wedding dresses, then there are lot’s of lovely designs online.
